Who We Are

A rock climbing guide service, based in Philadelphia, PA

Let’s get it out of the way. There are very few people traveling to Pennsylvania to go rock climbing. The state does house some fantastic bouldering and some savage sports fans, but it would seem that there are woefully few areas to go rope climbing.

Or so we were told.

Everywhere we looked we saw rock. There are tons of little crags spread throughout our state, and yet so few people go climb them. There are walls that were once ascended in the 70’s and 80’s that are now so overgrown that it looks impossible to climb them. We also found that a large part of the population in Philly have little to no access to quality education around rock climbing and getting outdoors.

That is the need we are seeking to fill. We want to be the school that folks come to when they have a new objective. We want to help you not only find, but reach the summit of your Dream Peak. If that’s clipping the chains at Birdsboro, let’s do it. If it’s your first trad climb, we can help. If you want to make your way into the alpine, let us help you get started. We’re psyched, and can’t wait to share a rope with you.

Our Guides

Michael Murphy, AMGA SPI, Wilderness First Responder

Michael’s passion is to share the outdoors with anyone and everyone. Since 2018, he’s been working on honing his craft as an instructor. After helping to assist the rock climbing program at the summer camp he worked at, he received his AMGA Single Pitch Instructor certification. In March of 2020, he was ready to take over their climbing program. After two trips as the lead instructor, the pandemic shut everything down. In December 2023, he recertified his AMGA Single Pitch instructor and is again ready to get folks into the outdoors. He has explored the sheer granite in the Wasatch, Potrero Chico’s soaring limestone cliffs, the Wind River Range, the Tetons, and many of the best routes the East offers. He is beyond psyched to get nerdy and talk about the nitty-gritty of gear, anchoring techniques, and all things climbing. When he’s not climbing, he’s usually hanging out with his wife, Maddy, or playing video games with his friends.

Connor Seeley, AMGA SPI

Connor’s climbing journey began with hard hikes in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. Being around such incredible landscapes eventually enticed him to learn how to climb more technical terrain. After his first visit to a climbing gym, he was hooked on climbing and has dedicated the last four years to getting better at all things climbing. He had considered working towards becoming a guide for years, so when he began climbing with Michael they both agreed he should go for it! He received his AMGA Single Pitch Instructor certificate in April of 2024.  While he started as a gym climber, he has since expanded into trad climbing, sport climbing, and some moderate ice routes. From the granite of New Hampshire to the sandstone of Red Rocks, Connor has experience on a variety of rock types and locations.
